Back to a normal life...

The countdown is over.
It's been 10 days since Paul got to the new house.
It's been 9 days since the movers got here.
It's been 2 days since I unpacked the last of the boxes and boy, were there alot of boxes! 3/4 of a Tractor Trailer was our stuff and about 3/4 of that were boxes. I hate boxes!!!
In the last 3 weeks, since I arrived at the house I have been getting alot of shit done to make this our house. And, Paul has been doing his thing too!
Painted the Masterbedroom, the living room / dining room and the kitchen. Pulled all the fugly wallpaper stripping down in the master bathroom, guestbathroom, kitchen, office and guest bedroom.
Put up new light fixtures / ceiling fans in the master bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining room, office and on the porch. Dad did some minor work on the pool. A new heater is on the way. Even though the pool temperature is generally at 85 degrees, Paul wants it warmer. Wimp!
We just bought all new appliances for the kitchen (stove, microwave, dishwasher and one of the new refridgerators that is a side by side with a freezer drawer on the bottom. Really nice and a great deal thanks to Home Depots 10% off coupon, and over $900 in rebates and gift cards for buying a package.
There's still more to do, to give the house our touch. Paul is gonna paint the guest bathroom & office in some faux finish. Gotta get a ultra modern bathroom cabinet with a glass vessel sink and new toliet. We still gotta pick out new curtains for the bedroom. Still gotta hang the drapes in the office and guestroom and get some window treatments for the kitchen. Roman shades would be nice.
Today we are having a garage sale to get rid of the shit that didn't sell in Daphne and he other stuff we have discovered we don't want or need or have the room for. Hopefully we sell at least 3/4 of it. It's taking up a lot of space in what should be the dining room. Thats the next big purchase. Since we sold the dining room set to the buyers of the Daphne house, it still would be nice to have something. We do pan on entertaining, though poolside will be the main area, that just won't work for the holidays. I want something modern, something interesting. We'll see. We can take our time for that. Not really hige on the list right now. Gotta get a fence put up in the yard first. It's getting really old, walking Roxy twice a day. She wants here freedom to roam. As for the rest of the outside projects...
We'll do that in the fall & winter when the temperatures are more comfortable.

As far as my name goes, I still would be Lost without Paul, so no, that will remian the same.
Until next time...

The countdown is almost complete!!!

Yeah!!! It is 7:00 am on Wednesday, July 12, 2006. Paul will be here in 11 hours. We have both signed off on the contract for the Daphne house. The buyers close on Thursday. I have many of the projects completed in the WPB house that I wanted to get done, plus some, before Paul gets here and the movers on Thursday. Finally, after 13 months, our lives & hearts are getting back where they belong. Was it worth it? Hard to say. Harder to imagine that we have been away from each other for soooo long. It's nice we made money on the moves but we are both tired of it. I am just glad to be together again. Paul had a great idea. We should just buy homes and fix 'em up and resales them. If we can make $25 to $40 K per house per year, using ours talents, we would then be in control of our own lives! Time will tell. Just gotta see what the market does here in WPB. With interest rates on the rise, thank you, you damn republicans, then it may be more challenging, but then again foreclosures are expected to rise. Who knows we may finally become the real estate moguls I dreamed of at 18 (a.k.a.: Donald Trump)?
